Yes I think have the CXi model. The card was working pretty well for a bit, I had changed the sound card (but didn't touch the video card) and had started getting pretty good at configuring DOS again... but no. The card has stopped working again, just on its own. HOORAY.

It used to be working. But I think I'd taken it out before because it stopped? Can't remember. Only 3 VLB slots on this PC. One's blocked off for reasons I forget, one has the I/O controller in it, and the bottom one has the card in it. And it's always been this way in the past.

No floppy drive was ever manufactured with this connector and without this flaw? There's no converter out there that can allow me to use a normal floppy drive? Pretty serious weakness indeed.

Well, it looks like so far the consensus is on keeping it. What can I say? It will hurt a little putting it back together so it works again, but I guess I get to indulge in nostalgia. Now to save up for suitable replacement parts!

Believe me, my interest in 386s is purely because it would likely be pure ISA. At least AT cases are bigger than err... Baby AT cases. Makes sense, no? Oh yeah, and I do generally prefer running games on newer systems when possible. However, I'd prefer it more if the newer systems I have had ISA.
