In DOSBox, Alt+Enter switches between full-screen and windowed modes. Ctrl+F10 gets your mouse out of the DOSBox window (in windowed mode) so that you can do other things. This might be a solution to the poor-sounding MIDI music in SimCity 2000: Improving Midi sounds

If I were you, I would spend a few dollars on eBay or at your local Mom & Pop computer shop to acquire an ISA Sound Blaster 16, AWE32 or AWE64. Does your motherboard have an ISA slot? You could have even more retro purity and better compatibility with an ISA sound card instead of an AudioPCI. You are running these DOS games in real-mode DOS (for maximum retro purity and compatibility) without having Windows loaded, right?
