The biggest thing would be if using VGA cards, specifically a Voodoo 3, would scale properly on its own and not stretch the image edge to edge when using 4:3 resolutions or would that just not work? Looking to get proper resolution for DOS games but not from DOSBOX. Or would that just not work? …

Did some more solder work on my Aztech Sound Galaxy NX Pro by jumpering some more wires to the corresponding solder points. However, 2 traces go to a small hole, which then goes to another spot (Line-In and one of the pins for the potentiometer) and I had to guess where to jumper the wires to the …

Got another 486 VLB motherboard. Hopefully this one will be a stable base for my 486 build. Barrel battery was remove, minimal acid staining on the keyboard port. Should be okay. Did some more solder work on the sound card since the volume was too low and the traces were breaking off at some spos, but I jumpers wires to those affected areas and it looks okay to me. Going to do another smoke test to see if the output volume is back again.

I looked at the card again and I noticed one eyelet/rivet is damaged, so there are two methods of repairing the card: 1) Purchase a new rivet/eyelet 2) Hotwire the VGA connector pin to the end of the trace

Huh. A 286 motherboard with an aux keyboard pinout? That's amazing. Use a multimeter to check for connectivity between the original keyboard port and the pinout on the board itself for the clock.

Have it as a spare since my TNT2 M64 needs a new VGA connector that I'm planning on purchasing (5 of them to be safe) so that I can have a fully functional AGP card for my Windows 98 machine. That, and for a computer that'll be used as a firewall.

It depends on the motherboard as there are three different Socket 7 motherboards: One that has AT (P8/P9) only One that has AT (P8/P9) and ATX One that has ATX only What is your motherboard manufacturer and model? Can you take a picture and post it on here?
