It may be Janitor Joe, as that was probably the first game I ever played. Once the games progressed a bit, Might and Magic III: Isles of Terra took the spot.

Not sure here, but it looks like infinstall_x64.exe may be installing the 32-bit driver to \Windows\System32 rather than the 64-bit one? That'd be odd, but the installers (all sorts of them) do install a .dll in \Windows\System32. The thing is, the installer copies the 64-bit .dll in there, while …

Thanks for sharing, if GS is for MM4/5 then CM-32L is not the good (right) device to use. But this seems contradicting the discussion above (°_°) As for the bow sound, I'm always wondering what's the "correct" sound and could you elaborate more about how to fix it? (I play MM5 on real hardware) …

In my experience playing these games many times since the 90s, CM-32L is great for MM3 and GM/GS for MM4/5. There is a capital tone fallback bug that affects the bow sound, but that can be fixed using FalcoSoft Midi player.

Wow. I can’t believe there is a thread about this. I started listening to mods / xm / s3m in the early 90s - will post a few of my favs here. Whoever listed “Ascent of the Cloud Eagle” earlier in the thread was spot on. Skaven, Purple Motion, Necros, Radix, Elwood, darkhalo all made good stuff.

@lordskylark Good question. MM3 sounds good with the CM32L. If I had to guess, I'd say MM3 would be Sound Blaster and MM4/5 SB Pro or SB16, but that's just looking at the release dates of the cards and games.

Agree with the above. Unless you really want one for historical reasons, running MUNT or FSMP with the MUNT VSTi is a suitable solution for any older MT-32 compatible game. Depending on the game and hardware revision of the MT-32, you will have some minor inconsistencies in how things sound. MUNT …
