OK just to update what's happening a bit more, the following is displayed in the console: Write 0 to rom at ffff9 Write 0 to rom at ffffa and then nothing! the game just freezes.. HELP!

yep seems ur right, I let it go on for longer and it worked ok. Thanks 😀 I'll post this information in the games listings so that people in future will know about this.
