IMHO Windows 98 4.10.1998 (First edition) is quite snappy for Pentium 1 with 64MB ram. It's good compromise between 95OSR2 and 98SE. Almost the same overhead and more user friendly (than Windows 95).

Here are NDIS drivers for DOS and autoset application (for DOS I think): ftp://corvus.izmiran.ru/pub/windows/drivers/n … ork/DP83905.zip No packet driver though. However being NE2000 compatible, you may set up resources using autoset application and use those values with ne2000 packet driver.

According to Philscompterlabs Nvidia 9x Graphics Drivers - GF4MX460 is supported since version 28.32 which is dated March 2002. I've never experienced any problems or glitches on drivers as high as 40.72, 43.45 or 45.23. Also I'm in doubt that any Riva (128/TNT/TNT2) using very early driver version …

I would go with gf4mx 128 bit. It is newest/fastest/coolest DX7 card. GF3 (DX8) is of course more powerful, but I think C3 is too weak CPU to show its strength.

Probably big thing, but... Is there possibility to add support for XMS memory in addition to EMS ? I know that XT can't use XMS, but for 286 this will be useful (when there is no EMS driver available, you can't use EMM386, and UMB_EMS4 is too slow)
