Recently it happened something like that to me also, except the stall part. I solved this upgrading to a newer version of the Realtek8139 driver. Try that and give us some feedback.

Why don't you use win98se instead of msdos? I think it's more flexible. Btw the frame turned out great, would like to see the cover to get the idea of the finished product 😀

Yes, it's a Chieftec Dragon something 😜 Seems that the OEM was Chenming, they supplied to Chieftec, Enermax, Antec and some others. Also the paint is original, not a real black but dark gray instead. If you guys have the chance to get one, don't let it go. This thing is heavy and high quality.

I was able to get one of these motherboards but now I'm struggling with the large hard disk support. As I only have a WD800BB drive available atm, I had to limit drive capacity via jumper but the BIOS only detects a 2GB drive. If I don't put the jumper in place, the machine locks up during POST. …

The next board I tried was this PC Chips Intel 430VX chipset motherboard. I do not think the BIOS chip belongs to this board but it was there when I got it and any BIOS for Intel 430xx should at least be enough to get some beeps. The board seems totally dead, I tried two differnt pairs of FPM …

I think the only way to do that is opening the drive to see if there is any solder spots to get analog audio out. I've seen many SATA drives and none of them had that physical connector as the IDE drives
