Re: Senseless OT, was "Thanks for the ride"

Robertmo, I have no idea what changed with you... Seriously, get your act together. Perhaps, it's a language barrier? Robertmo told the original thread starter that there was no need to delete user account when leaving the forum. As an example, he mentioned the account of one of the moderators that …

I understand the need for regulation and respect the power of moderators. However, your exibition is a prime example of moderator power abuse. I was calling you out for straying off topic. Milliways Announcements, advice, random banter, unrelated discussion, et cetera. In my original post I didn't …

Thank you. Not every day one sees a Mod stoop down to borderline personal attacks. Original poster mentioned leaving and stated his feelings. Since, I have "semi-left" the forum myself, I felt like sharing my own sentiments. Please, forgive me that you don't share them. I am sorry I dared to express …

Re: Thanks for the ride

I share your sentiment as I stopped frequenting the forum while being a daily visitor before. For me the breaking point was the removal of eBay deals thread. While it was not devoid of drama, the complete removal of it was a mistake. It was a place to ask a question about some hardware or fair price …

Even though, I hardly bought any vintage gear this year, I still found myself visiting the eBay thread weekly if not daily. Not only you could use it to familiarize yourself with what is considered a fair …

Re: Clean installing 98se with an upgrade disk?

Sorry about delayed reply. Had to find my W98 combo install CD. Looking at it, I have 2 sub-directories I've made that contain the files that differ between OEM and Upgrade. Normally I'd copy the contents of the corresponding folder into main install directory, overwriting existing file(s). UPG: …

Re: Clean installing 98se with an upgrade disk?

If I remember correctly the difference between U.S. OEM vs Upgrade Windows 98 was just four files. When I used to fix computers I identified them by comparing both install CDs. I ended up making my own W98 install CD with those 4 extra files in a separate folder that I would copy over when I had to …
