Re: Are Blood 2 & Descent 3 worth checking out?

Descent 3 was boring when I checked out the first few levels. Never thought much of it. Blood 2 is a disaster that could have been great if GT didn't decide to ship a game that was about half finished; I think the best review on it I've seen is Civvie 11's 3 part epic. Of course, you CAN mod it with …

Re: My new SoundFonts (SC-88Pro Compatible!)

You've got on to the point I wanted to talk about: The InsertionEFX in the 88Pro. I really hope bassmidi adds 88Pro InsertionEFX support soon! That is just the last thing us gamers need to play games like touhou and pokemon composed on the 88pro perfectly! The problem is, there's no reason for them …

Re: making youtube videos on a few old computers

Just do it is all I can say. Advertise when you can and keep making content, you'll eventually build up an audience. Took me a long time but I've managed to accrue about 200 people who consistently watch my game reviews and music gear reviews/music educational stuff, and that has grown significantly …

Re: Technically impressive FM synth music

I suppose I should post a few of my own works in this thread since it seems to fit the theme. https://soundcloud.com/speedyfm/darxide-stage-1-1-opl3-cover https://soundcloud.com/speedyfm/tribulationsopl3 https://soundcloud.com/speedyfm/dn3dgrabbag-md

Re: Forsaken

I have played both the PC and N64 versions, but I can't remember any differences in levels, or gameplay, etc (other than the (mostly stupid) changes to the N64 version that I mentioned in my earlier post). What are they? The N64 has a new set of levels and some new enemies. Night Dive sorta ' …

Re: What maintenance on SC-55?

Also here are the raw captures from ScummVM for the different modes (GM, MT32 and GS). The GS version sounds way off. I wonder why? Seems bizarre that you'd only be having issues with the GS mode on the 55, but I guess one way to check if something is off is to run one of the demos since there's …

Re: Quake CD Music

So the secret it seems was to hav the game data on the disc and not just the music, and not bother with WINQUAKE but only use the DOS version. Odd but there you go. That seems bizarre, because I've played Quake with my own music in the drive before from some legit audio CDs and it played them just …

Re: Forsaken

I see Forsaken Remastered is out now for £15. It doesn't even look any different, apart from the new HUD which looks really annoying and there's currently no way to remove or change it. I think I'll stick to the original. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9qlel8SA-Mo The next update adds the ability …

Re: Questions related to my SC-55 mk1

When MU units are running in USB Mode other ports are disabled. As concerns MU USB or serial (To Host) connections, the MIDI OUT port functions as an equivalent to MIDI THRU. Assuming a default Thru Port setting of 1, data sent to the MU in such a manner will be played by the internal tone …

Re: The First Decade on Windows 98

You may want to try KernelEx to lie to the program and say you're running XP. Last I remember, TFD would just crap out telling me that 98 isn't supported. Also, the music for C&C isn't CD audio, it's all in game files, so the music should be in pretty much any download.

Re: Questions related to my SC-55 mk1

Good to see it's all working OP! The UM adapters are pretty sturdy little things so it should keep you going for a very long time. SuperDeadite wrote: When MU units are running in USB Mode other ports are disabled. That's what I figured, which is why I was confused about techweenie's post.

Re: One MIDI device too many..?

Depends on what games you are into. A lot of Japanese doujin games (Touhou being the most popular) are meant specifically for the 88 Pro. A lot? As in... there's more than Touhou and Falcom games? If you could list some of them off I'd really appreciate it because I don't know of any besides Touhou …
