the Adaptec AHA-2940UW works well in early PCI systems had dos drivers and win 3.X drivers also... It has worked in boards from a 486 pci system to Core2 systems.

those 3 adapters you are showing were meant to add an IDE/ATAPI cdrom to a system. They were never meant to be bootable. Best way to get around this would be to make custom riser board. So you can add a Proper IDE card to they system.

I remember re-compiling the kernel for my gateway laptop back in Llate 2000. This was rehat 7. Gotta compile those modules for funky laptop hardware..

Honestly I don't know. If the memory modules on ecc / non-ecc are the same it seems possible.

I was having some fun installing Win 95 on my 486-160 Rig. I found out that the Matrox driver installer crashes when ran from a 486. To get more than 640x480 I switched out the Millennium II for a Rage Pro (ati installer works on a 486) Enjoy the images..

I use a NTI ST-4U kvm switch. https://www.kvm-switches-online.com/nti-st-4u.html You can find them on ebay. most sell for $400 but they sometimes show up for way less.

I did notice my Bios defaults the WT cache.. That reduces ram speed down to 40Mb/s @ 40Mhz bus

So apparently on a 486 EDO/FPM does not matter. Well FPM looks to be slightly faster writing.. Also system is not stable with edo. (Random crashing/Random ram sizes with cold boot) EDO ram was tested with memtest4 on a pentium 133 FPM was tested on the 486 The system is a Lucky Star 486 Rev D. …

Fried a Amiga 4000T motherboard.. Screw came loose from a HxC floppy emulator when i bumped it and i heard a pop... now the keyboard / mouse circuitry doesn't work..
