The first one is going to be the same as pretty much any Yamaha card based on the same chipset. Real OPL3 integrated and pretty good compatibility. The second one looks like some variation of a Medivision Pro Audio Spectrum card just by looking at the chips on it.

If it is putting pressure on the side panel, then yeah, it could break the SATA connection on the drive. That being said, I try to make sure I have wide enough cases to no have to worry about it.
