PCI cards are not compatible with ISA cards, and this is not because of PnP, but because of PCI. They need an emulation driver. What game are you trying to run? Does the game (or the game's setup program) detect the card?

Windows 95 isn't so different from Windows 7, and you can actually make Win7 look like 95 (more like 98 or Me). And Vista even more so. And XP even more so. The reactions are fake or they chose the dumbest people they could find 😉

More accessible and maintained these days is NASM. Yes, it is available for DOS. You can create .com files directly with NASM, but .exe requires a linker. The last key is being repeated, and releasing any other key does not stop it. Releasing Shift does not stop repetition, but changes the case of repeated character. Pressing Shift stops repetition.

Edit: Fixed it according to the official documentation, stopping input when any key is released (including rapid input). My keyboard stops repeating only when the repeating key is released.

AWE64 does not have to use any memory. Just run CTCM and AWEUTIL /S. Nothing stays resident, but you don't get GM or MT32 emulation this way. Show your config.sys and autoexec.bat
