Re: Games with true SC-88 support.

What are you doing with the MT-32? Apologies again for the delayed response. I've pretty much done all I can for the MT-32 wiki page working purely with emulation (Munt, DOSBox, 86Box, PCem, etc.). All that remains now is to systematically test for buffer overflows on MT-32 'old' as well as the …

Re: Games with true SC-88 support.

@Spiffy, what's the Sonic 3K track(s) that needs an 88Pro? i'm not doubting it, I just never checked in the MIDI files. Apologies for the late, late reply, but it looks like I was wrong about S3KC . It doesn't actually use any SC-88/Pro-exclusive instruments or variations but only suffers note drop …

Re: List of DOS games with OPL3 stereo music

I recently found that Fleet Defender can play stereo OPL3 music (with optional PCM drum samples) via Sound Blaster Pro 2/16/AWE32 . Like many other MicroProse games of that time, it can also play stereo OPL2 music exclusively via Sound Blaster Pro 1 and its dual OPL2 chips. I confirmed this myself …

Re: Games with true SC-88 support.

The GS soundtrack for this game seems to be tailored for the Roland SC-88Pro specifically. I've just added it to my list of games that use GS variation tones in this post . Thanks for pointing it out! FYI, here's a list of all the games I've managed to identify so far (for both DOS and Windows) that …

Re: AWEstruck...

Despite that, I've just finished adding a ton of entries to the list of games that natively support AWE synth over at the VOGONS wiki. Nice work! If I may suggest, maybe add separate columns for nrpn and custom soundfont use (Yes/No). That would make it a bit easier to spot games which utilize …

Re: AWEstruck...

I looked at some of the Magic Carpet 2 midi files for AWE32 and don't see nrpn events. Or does the game itself send nrpn events? If so, how do you capture the nrpn events to a midi or text file? Looks like it's the latter, which makes it harder to document, especially if you're only working with …

Re: Members of Vogons, what shows do you currently watch?

Finished watching season 2 of Star Trek: Picard. Here are two short clips that perfectly sum up my feelings: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ovm1J_AxLQ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zoMiYklHvjk Probably should have just continued working through The Expanse for my sci-fi fix. Strange New Worlds …
