Re: Amiga - better graphics because of worse monitors?

in Milliways
^Maybe, though the experience with my classmates was different, sadly. They thought killing was cool. When that Iraq war was current in 2000s, they had showed little to no empathy and instead enjoyed talking about guns and killing and stuff. They didn't really differentiate games (CS 1.6 etc) from …

Re: Demand for a new Sega Genesis/Mega Drive game

I'm only here because Keropi showed this thread lol. I don't end up on this part of these forums very often on my own... Nowdays people use a tracker called Furnace and music is often done by VGM conversion to a format called XGM that SGDK supports. I don't really know what the situation about …

I'm intimately familiar with how the sound works on MD, having made music and tools for this purpose for the machine in 2007...2010 or so timespan lol. If you encounter a TmEE somewhere on the old forums, that is me lol. You can find music people from places like "Battle of the Bits", which is …

Re: Demand for a new Sega Genesis/Mega Drive game

As long as it plays well there will be people who want it. I definitely don't mind seeing new games although I don't play much anymore and in many cases the real deciding factor will be quality of the music since I spend a lot of time in sound tests of the games that have one or just listening the …

Re: Demand for a new Sega Genesis/Mega Drive game

there is always demand for good games - megadrive included there are several new commercial ones released over the last few years and I have even bought several of them - it seems to me they were a success I say go for it! Thanks for replying! As a matter of fact, I already went for it... the game …

Demand for a new Sega Genesis/Mega Drive game

in Milliways
Hey everyone, This is a kind of market research of sorts, basically I've started a new project for creating a new game for the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive, something I was wanting to do for quite a while now. Right now I'm trying not to think too much about selling or making money out of it yet and …

Re: What is the LAST 5 DOS Game ever made for DOS?

in Milliways
For me, the latest DOS games played were: Quake Blood Shadow Warrior Ignition LSL 7: Love for Sail MDK Theme Hospital Shattered Steel Alone in the Dark 3 Grand Theft Auto As for Mortal Kombat Trilogy, you can buy the game from GOG if you don't have it already, then you can apply the Kommunity Patch. …

Re: Is it really my nostalgia or are you playing it wrong…

in Milliways
Nostalgia does play a role, but this is not all. As a lot of people already pointed, game design rules were different back then, society was less cluttered and in general everybody had more time to enjoy things, so it was acceptable to make more difficult/cryptic games. Some mechanics can be only …

Re: Tell about your country

And this is why I didn't think this topic is a good idea and part of the reason I didn't answer it on-topic. There is a lot to criticize about China's government or the politics of any country, my country also has policies that would certainly ruffle some feathers, but this forum is no place for …

Who knows how many Chinese are here? I guess not many, because not everyone has the conditions to register for this forum in China's network environment.I'm not sure what kind of attitude Europeans and North Americans have towards the Chinese. It seems to be more negative? In recent years, I have …

Brazil is a hot mess, nothing works, everything is extremely expensive, corruption is everywhere, but the worse is the violence. Weather, natural resources, food and the people are amazing, but in the end the cons overcome the pros to me. I left Brazil and moved to USA about 7 years ago, started my …

Re: Alone in the Dark 2 & 3 No SFX

in DOS
When going into the Hardware Options portion of the Install program, Sound Blaster/16 isn't an option. That happened to me, too. Question is trying to remember what fixed it as it happened years ago :) If its not CPU speed, then it could be memory, if you type MEM in DOS, how much conventional …

Re: Alone in the Dark 2 & 3 No SFX

in DOS
My other guess would be the memory configuration, how does your config.sys and autoexec.bat files look like? Have you tried different combinations like enabling/disabling EMM386? How much free conventional memory do you have when running the game?

Re: Alone in the Dark 2 & 3 No SFX

in DOS
Here is what I would try to troubleshoot it: -Disable L1 and L2 caches in BIOS -After disabling caches, run DOS straight after boot instead of clicking start/shut down/ exit to DOS. This can be done by pressing F8 when the “Starting Windows 98” message appears and then selecting the “Command Prompt” …
