My only guess is that there may be different releases of LB.EXE available (retail, XPlosiv, Expert and Fair Game for what I could find online). Maybe you can try using LB.EXE from other releases of the game… FYI, the one I used was the Brazilian retail one.

So, does anyone know if any of this works at all? I was having a tinker earlier, using hex editor to change references of .avi to .wmv or .mp4 inside LB.EXE but nothing really worked (Win 10). Have you tried disabling ztrick in the console? Guess it was something like: gl_ztrick 0 When I used to have a voodoo 2, had to do that otherwise the HUD would flicker as you described.

I'm strugling with Pitfall: The Mayan Adventure. The game runs too fast when setting it to full screen (smooth) with vsync enabled, which in theory should run the game at 320x240@60fps. Strange is that it happens even with period correct hardware below the recommended requirements!
