I remember those. They were for yanking out 386DX chips and directly replacing them with these. Kinda pointless really, All that CPU power and miniscule RAM/hardware support...

Thanks for the hand guys. Back in the day when I ran Win98SE on my main PC, I had a PAS16, and then later a Live!...I'm rather rusty at the old Win98/DOS cross configuration tricks now, where I used to pride myself on them. 😢

I buy laptop keyboards direct from the maker. They often have supplies of very out of date parts for really old machines. The problem is you're going to pay original retail price, but you ensure you get the right part in flawless condition.

I'm considering swapping out my DOS gaming machine for a Single Board Computer with a backplane. I want to keep using my Pentium 1 and PC100 SDRAM, but are there super socket 7 SBCs? What about AGP? Is AGP worth sacrificing for PCI (Voodoo 5 5500) if AGP isn't supported?

What do you guys do for heatsinks/fans for your old rigs? I'm having trouble finding a good cooler for my P1 I've built. It's a P1-266MMX 1.9V chip, so it runs cooler already than the usual P1s, but I still need something. Do you mod modern fan units to it?
