Re: Easy Win-95 era gaming PC.

PC football is what got me into computers in the first place. Remember back in 1994 playing Konami NFL on my bro's Packard Bell, think he got tired of my "frequent visits" 😁. In 1996 got my own pc which was a 133hz. pentium "no name" brand. Eventually installed Sierra's Front Page Sports Football …

Re: DOSBox-X branch

Is the main DOSBox-X web page going to have a new release soon? I didn't read anywhere that the release schedule changed. thanks. The main developer has been busy with his actual work, and one of the other developers stepped down, so that leaves a bit of a gap. But there are nightly releases you …

Been messing around tonight with the ray tracing mods for Quake 1. Really does look great. Considering I never finished the first Quake, I think it's time. https://github.com/sultim-t/vkquake-rt/releases/tag/1.20.2-rt1.0.1 https://github.com/sultim-t/vkquake-rt/releases/tag/1.20.2-rt1.0.2 Wonder if …

So far I like Raze, colors look more pleasing to the eye and everything is little less pixelated. Another vote for Raze I can just about run everything in it like Blood, Nam, Shadow Warrior and etc. Nice to keep everything in one place instead of different installations spread out everywhere.

Preferred Powerslave/Exhumed mods

Just got powerslave from GOG and was wondering what mods everyone favors with this? Tried GDX but in some areas the colors seem "off" and distracting.

I was curious of how you like the sound blaster card. Been going back and forth on adding a sound card to my Ryzen build. Keep hearing how mobo sound is good enough, but is it really? If I am completely honest with myself I stopped hearing the difference between sound cards years ago. Probably has …

Why the hell does the soundtrack need to be 75% louder than the damn dialogue. Thats what I want to know. My volume is up and down like Super Mario's raccoon tail! Makes me wish modern TVs has sliders and knobs like the 70s. I know in the theatre the sound is usually way too loud and that's saying …

Re: Do movies suck these days?

It's only a hot topic in America and some Western societies with a famously peaceful history like the UK, Germany or France. The rest of the world doesn't care nearly as much about race/gender/sexuality in movies. That forced white guilt is obviously working to make sure that you don't get mowed …

Moves have always been crap, same with TV shows. Anything vintage people still watch today is probably 2% of what was created back in the day. The real difference between 100 years ago and today (in the US anyway) is that minorities started being a larger chunk of the population, so they started …

There's plenty of reasons to not like new movies without going into some "i'm not racist but" white cishet alpha male fantasy bigoted vile fascist horseshit, like: - marvel crunching and underpaying VFX studios for the annual power spandex fests - half-hearted LGBTQ+ representation conveniently …
