For electronics, pcbs and such these three has worked so far. Had no issue on metals and plastics. If one can afford it just get a big ultrasonic cleaner tub and use lots of isopropyl alcohol.

Well made AT unit. 2004- 2005 maybe. As TheMobRules said those Fuhjyyu capacitors need to go. The loose black '"extra wire" should be soldered to COM (common ground).

Carefully examine those 1000uf smd electrolytic capacitors at the leads. They tend to decay and leak. I've had the exact same card and the bad caps ate the surrounding solder joints and component leads while in storage!

I think the oem of these units might be Topower or Young Year... probably. Might have some rotting electrolythic capacitors. The brands that go bad in storage after 4- 5 years.

Thanks! I was using a 250W FSP then a 300W Enermax for 8- 9 years. Those units were way old by then. The fan seized in the FSP, caps started to rot in the Enermax. Someone whos building a period correct pc can't avoid to do maintanance.

Spreadsheet in PDF format As others wrote get some tried and tested brand like Delta, FSP, High Power, Zippy or Seasonic, Seventeam, Enermax, Topower, Codegen, Macron, Linkworld... these last four can be a real a hit or miss types, but can really add to the 'period correct ambient'.

If the pieces are missing epoxy pastes and puttys can be used to fix up and sculpt simple forms. I've done this on broken and cracked notebook and laptop plastics but not on pc cases. After the epoxy has cured you can spray paint it to color.

I have a AT Antec PP-xxxV and it looks nothing like the one on those pictures. Best case it's not a gutless paperweight but some okay-ish refurbed unit from the 90' in a new cheap case, or some low power hacked ATX unit.

I didn't do anything differently with the boards during the reworks. The Gigabyte GA-7n400 Pro2 board have probably gone through many stressful thermal cycles during operation. The other boards let go of the SB chips fine.

Thanks for the tips! I have injected 5V into that post card and the voltage appeared on some of the data bus pins (where it shouldn't I guess). I haven't examined it further. I'm bummed out on these boards right now but will probably get back to them in the future...
