No, you have the most interesting job of anyone here AFAIK. Electrics, hydrodynamics and engine design are all very different fields. Are marine engineers supposed to know everything about all of them or do they specialise in specific areas?

Pot will apparently be fully legal in Canada as of next month. Just hide the computer behind a thicket of pot plants. Nobody will bother you then.

In general, the cooler the better. Check that fans are all functional and spinning at their maximum speeds. You can put in more powerful case fans. See the amperage of the existing fans and get something stronger (e.g. replace 0.8A with 1.6A). This will mean more noise though. Check for accumulated …

It's probably for a docking station. In those days laptops often had compatible docking stations with full length slots for expansion cards that could be used by the laptop when it was connected. You may want to see if your model ever had one.

Yes, POD (1997) is the same. Jerky sound on a 1 GHZ PIII. Runs fine on a 200 MHz Pentium MMX.

sounds like a conventional memory problem (0-640K) not EMS/XMS Programs sometimes malfunction in DOSBox if they encounter too much free conventional memory. Try running the program with LOADFIX, e.g. LOADFIX PCX.EXE
