I assume the OP's machine didn't come with a RAID card. One of mine came with a NetRAID-1M which supports a single SCSI channel. I think that was the officially supported RAID card for this model.

TANSTAAFL. Low noise = low CPU power. This machine (a ProLiant G3) runs nice and quiet in low power mode, but you lose nearly a quarter CPU speed.

Lovely monitors! I used them as my main screen for most of the last decade. They will die though. I got through two in six years. (I got the second under warranty when the first died.) They're apparently rebranded NEC/Mitsubishi models, but I don't know the original model names.

Servers are notoriously noisy. I have a similar problem with a server I'm currently using as a desktop. It has 3.60 GHz CPUs but most of the time I run them throttled down to 2.80 GHz because of the terrible noise the fans make when CPU utilization is high.

Coincidentally I've just acquired a Supermicro P8SCi. My first 775 board. (I jumped straight from 478 to 1366 back in the day.) Speccy identifies it as a P8SC8 (Socket 423) for some reason.

I bought a flight simulator on fleabay. A big box edition. The CD/jewel case/manual were missing. Instead the box contained a book about airliners. 😐
