I still burn important files to Blu-Ray but the only media I now trust are Taiyo Yuden BD-R DL disks imported directly from Japan. These are not cheap.

Yeah like floppy disks in the late 90s. They're now just for short term storage. Don't expect your data to still be there a year from now.

Make sure you plug it in the right way round. I fried one of these by connecting it the wrong way. (Fortunately the computer was unharmed.)

There were some HP servers that allowed you to hot plug PCI-X cards and RAM modules. I think this has been discontinued though.

OT, but has anyone else been having a problem with Windows Defender blocking certain PDF files containing links to malware sites. (Presumably these were originally legit sites which are now abandoned and hosting malware.) I have a lot of old PDFs which are now unusable because of this.

Microsoft Word has many useful keyboard shortcuts for such characters, unfortunately they don't work in other programs. (Not even other Office apps) ETA: But the umlaut-n in "Spinal Tap" is not supported which is a tragedy.

Huh, isn't vDOS for textmode applications? That appears to be Flight Simulator 5.1 which should work fine on DOSBox. You will need to mount the CD drive in DOSBox, then install it from the disk.
