I use my OLD MT-32 with firmware version 1.07 with an AWE64's MIDI port on a Pentium 1.4GHZ 512K and I have never gotten a buffer overflow on it . I have never needed to use the /delaysysex option when using SOFTMPU (I have however used SETMUL to disable L1 cache for some problematic games games …

It has an ALI chipset. The usb card does work in windows 98 Which is handy for transferring files. Glad to have it working, I just restored my MT-32 with 23 brand new nichicon capacitors ! Ok, so I reserved IRQ9 and saw that it assigned the USB PCI card to other interrupts 10/11 I think. But I still had the same problem. I removed the USB PCI Card and it instantly fixed the problem with the MPU-401 :) not sure why removing the card fixed the problem though. Thanks for your help I …

I know that this is a really old thread but I was having the same issue using the vga port on my benq projector. a VGA to HDMI adapter instantly fixed the problem so I can confirm that it is a hardware display issue.

Thanks for the replies! The lowest i can get with jumpers is 60 mhz (which did work ok). Its a compaq that does not have a turbo button on the case so im not sure if the motherboard will have it ill have to look.

Sorry for the double post. I posted this in the wrong area my first time (I'm new here) Is it safe to switch jumpers on the motherboard to change the clock speed to slow down a 100mhz 486 to 33mhz (for the purposes of running older games)
