I know that sometimes speedsys can bench the bandwidth of the VRAM. Maybe with some calculations you'll see if the ISA bus can handle the speed it will indicate or not. If it does, then it may be ISA. If it doesn't or that it's close to ISA's limitations then it's almost certain that it's a VL Bus …

Maybe by benching your video card and then finding someone else that would use the same CPU as you did and has the VLB version of that card and compare the benchmarks

The drive controller must support DMA mode too Also, early versions of win95 didn't support DMA mode at all. You need 95 osr 2.1 (or 2.0, I don't know) for that

You should still look after changing your video card too, topbench says that you've got a trident video card which was a really cheap brand of video cards ... and many of their GPUs were really slow. Oh no, pcchips ><. Be careful, this board might have fake cache ... For the sound, IIRC I didn't have had problems with that board for sound ... Have you tried another GPU and IDE controller ? Maybe they interfere with the sound card for some reason ? Have you tried another psu too ?
