Probably the board came in two configurations, one with voltage regulator and one without. The board still has all the jumper settings but they do nothing, because the regulator isn't there to produce the lower voltage Happened with me on a DataExpert board

These keywords should help you out : 8mm latching dpdt switch Make sure it's a latching switch (stays in when pressed), a momentary switch like a modern ATX power button won't stay 'on'

With sufficient cooling you can run an MMX cpu at the higher voltage. I did it for a long time with no problems (YMMV) The best you can get though is the Powerleap K6-III adapter, paired with a K6-III 400. But it's really not worth the cost !

You can run XP on your i5-3570, dual boot it. No need for the Athlon XP then. Almost any late-stage 98se game will run on XP (I haven't found one yet that doesn't). I started with Win95 and then went to Win98SE on my Pentium 233. I didn't notice any loss of performance. The reason I changed was that I wanted to upgrade my IDE controller (which turned out to be well worth doing) and couldn't find any compatible drivers for Win95

Have you checked the dip switches as on this website? http://oldcomputer.info/pc/commodore10/#jumper Apparently switches 3 and 4 control whether 512 or 640KB of ram is used

I built a 486 dx2/66 and while I love it to bits, my Pentium 233 MMX does everything it can do better, and more besides Win3.1, Win98, 3DFX Voodoo, MIDI. When I disable CPU caches I get a 386DX/40 equivalent. I can't bring myself to part with the 486, but I also have no use for it
