I have a 500gb SATA drive since buying "new" IDE drives seems... not doable. No idea if the motherboard I ordered has a BIOS that can force IDE, and then I can just use 128gb partition, or if I should get an IDE to SD card option, or if there's any place that sells 3.5" IDE drives that aren't old …

I don't fully understand how Daggerfall calculates your movement stats, but being unable to ascend anything while crouching makes sense. I'm not sure it's helpful, but on my DOS 6.22 system, I use QEMM and let it do its thing, I have 629k free conventional, and enough EMS and XMS for games that need them. For Ultima 7 I use a bootdisk, haha.

ACTUALLY, in case anyone else runs into this problem, I realized it was auto-detecting the wrong IRQ. Make sure you do it manually if you're not at 7.

How in the world do I quit the game? The manual tells me NOTHING. Maybe I'm missing a reference card or something somewhere. I've tried every key combination I can think of, the only one that for sure works is, y'know, CTRL+ALT+DEL.

Well, after QEMM, everything runs jsut fine except for NFSSE and Jazz Jackrabbit so far. So, guess it was memory related? Don't know, losing ability to care anymore. EDIT NOPE. Stuff is still broken. So, that's it, I'm done. It's a Pentium 90 with 16mb of RAM now. The end.
