Either a 2700k or 3770k would be fine. The typical period of gaming for an Windows XP system will be from the late 90s to 2008 or so. Sandy or Ivy Bridge systems from the 2010s should give more than enough performance headroom for games from the 2000s. As for GPU, again either a GTX 780Ti or 970 …

Can also confirm that a Ti 4200 can run with a passive heatsink. I'm using a Zalman fanless cooler, which is basically two giant heatsinks connected via a heatpipe. Also have a couple 140mm intake fans that help push air towards it for good measure.

What is it with Value Villages and Sims games? 😅 The local Value Village I go to mostly tends to mix up games with CDs and DVDs. I always scan those sections just in case.

Did another thrift store run today and lucked out with a decent haul. More Sims games, a pile of tactical shooters, and even a complete-in-box copy of Links 386 CD. The Rainbox Six games also came with all their original manuals (not pictured).
