Are there any specific system requirements for the SVN builds (ECE and non)? I just tried running both on my old Athlon XP. The ECE version crashed while the non-ECE version gave an incorrect configuration error.

This won't give you an exact answer, but I figure this out by running Phil's Quake benchmark test at max cycles and then at a few different cycle settings. A little math should get you in the ballpark. My 13-year-old Athlon XP 3000+ gets up to a whopping 130,000 or so.

Just from my own experience, v1.41 of the S3 drivers worked better for me in Windows 3.1. I don't doubt that 1.69 might have improved something, but I could not get Paintbrush to work on it (it would not draw anything), whereas 1.41 worked fine.
