And that's what I don't get. The only way I see for the 8042 to reset the system is to drive it's pin 34 high (or not drive it at all, since all TTL chips have pull-ups on inputs). But there's an OR gate (U80 on the schematinc) that will just ignore it unless J1 is closed. Because if it's open then …
