If these chips were from china, that is exactly the issue you will see. If bought from anywhere else are reliable but difficult to find in volume of ICs for sure.

That 8 x 32K x 8 bit are correct for 256K. Bringing up to 512K needs these 8 chips swapped out for 64K x 8 chips. Cheers,

bar of square copper or brass laid against inside of corner where pads are and soldered is stronger than solder alone. Be delicate as pads themselves are not that strong, unless you specify through holes plated about 6 or 9 holes for each pad will increase the strength some. Cheers,

240 C is not hot enough for lead-free solder. I had to go high around 360C and preheater under the board. For lead solder, 300-340 is perfect, still preheater. Cheers,

Absolutely true. AS5's manual says AS5 paste is electrically conductive due to silver bearing powder. Atom stuff does not have dual channel memory subsystem. Hence poor video performance. Plus SGX545 is very poorly supported. Only two OS supported. XP and 7. The linux has none. I even tried video card in the PCI slot. Performance went down. Cheers,

Real cache chips from that era tend to be white inked. The ones that was lasered or dimmer print is much later production (around 2000 and later) and probably fakes. Cheers,
