Yes exactly, but in that pic/schematic the din-connector is "midi out". edit: i know, i'm counting beans here. I know that the midi signals are going out on that side. But if you have a connector on a device that is called "midi out" i would use another description 😁

this is a simple schematic for a gameport->midi-out adapter: http://i.imgur.com/tzvAwcJl.png you connect it to the CM-64's IN port and it will work fine... straight cable connections are not a good idea. Ok thanks, if i get a 74LS00 i'll do that thing. But, should i have gotten sound or not? What will/would happen with a straight connection? What about those midi/gameport-cables you can get on amazon/ebay? Do the have this circuit?

"Quick" question: I recently got a CM-64 without cables. I made a cable via this http://amorphe-welt.de/bastelei/midi/midikabel.html DIN - D-sub --------------- 2 - 4 4 - 8 5 - 15 After a quick test i diddn't get sound, so i want to know if this pinout is correct, so i can rule the cable out. Thanks

I had an interesting time over the last days with my DX2-80 machine. At one point i noticed that i had no upper memory, no matter what i did with config/autoexec. After reinstalling dos i got hangs at ramchecks and/or starting games like duke3d. I changed ram and cache. I tried to find ripplevoltage …

For me, I get a warm fuzzy feeling when I look at my pile of beige. I do enjoy a game every now and then, so I'll keep them ready to spin up and play. But, I also realize a lot of my fascination is just having these little time-machines. Building them, fixing them up, restoring them to look as new …

The journey is the destination. I started because i wanted to play the games of my memories, maybe sometime i will, maybe not. It does not matter. You have to do what makes fun at the moment.

Getting frustrated at multiple points. Tried to get two 3.5" drives to work with my cpc 464 (i know, it's not x86), with no result other than burning myself. My dx2-80 seems to have suddenly decided to get on my nerves. Installation problems, sudden hangs...Stupid thing knows i don't have an axe... …

Lately i made vacation in non-x86 space. I got myself my first ever Amiga 500 (never had one) and i got an Amstrad CPC464. I finished recapping the psu and the amigaboard and i'm happy everthing is still working. :-D Next i got myself a DDI-4 interface so i can use a normal 3,5" floppy drive, and …

Hi guys, quick question: I have no experience with voodoo cards, never had one back in the day. Alekto (yes i give them names) is a 5x86 with a s3 pci card. Would that cpu be to weak for early voodoo games? greetings
