I had the exact same problem recently with a Voodoo 1 on a Pentium 133. 2D card is a Matrox Millennium. In a nutshell, GLQuake doesn't work properly with Quake Shareware. I used the full version of Quake instead and it now works great.

Looks great - have also just built a system with one of these boards. Latest BIOS update is worth installing as it enables booting from CD and fixed some issues I was having with Windows 95 detecting both IDE channels properly. Think they are limited to non-MMX Intel CPUs (or the MMX overdrive) …

Glad you got it up and running. The front-USB is probably specific to the OEM case it was originally fitted to. Interesting the way you have mounted your HD, haven't seen one mounted vertically like that before.

I also own an M700 and mine has a 120gb Fujitsu HD in it, which works fine under both 98SE, XP and Windows 2000, so I'm not sure that the capacity is the problem here. Have you tried checking for an updated BIOS?
