Re: Age of Wonders 1 - Game not loading DLL

You can use this reg file from DDrawCompat: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/narzoul/DDrawCompat/master/Tools/InstallDDrawCOMRedirection.reg It should have all the ddraw-related keys, both for 32-bit and 64-bit Windows versions. It installs them under HKEY_CURRENT_USER, so no TrustedInstaller hacks …

Re: dgVoodoo 2.7.x and related WIP versions

I'm asking about ALL possible versions of "Borderless Fullscreen Mode". Don't know if "Fake (exclusive) fullscreen" is part of them only 'cause there's no control of gamma and other monitor features. Take Unreal Engine 4: it has "fullscreen" and "bordeless fullscreen", so they translate into "fake …

This ddraw log file? W10/GTX 1060/MIG v123 That's the correct file, but you need to use the ReleaseWithDebugLogs build of DDrawCompat instead. You can find it in ddraw-debug.zip under the experimental release on GitHub. Switch back to the original Release version after you're done. i checked mine …

Re: MiG Alley

Could anyone who has the Nvidia cockpit transparency issue upload the debug logs for me? To keep the log size to a minimum, please keep the test as short as possible. Just enter a quick mission, have the cockpit show up, and immediately exit the mission and the game.

Re: MiG Alley

Thanks for the feedback! At least now I know the performance fixes are ok on Nvidia also. Too bad about the cockpit issue. Since I can't reproduce it, I probably won't be able to fix it, but we'll see... G-Sync is Nvidia's variable refresh rate technology, which requires a compatible monitor also. …

Re: MiG Alley

in Windows
Do you have G-Sync enabled by chance? I've had reports that it causes crashes with DDrawCompat, probably related to full-screen exclusive mode (I couldn't get a confirmation yet). If that's not the issue, please share your DDrawCompat-Mig.log file. If that doesn't show anything interesting either, I …

Re: MiG Alley

This doesn't work for me at all on an Nvidia card. Can you tell me more about your configuration, compatibility mode if any? I have Windows 10 version 2004 with an AMD Radeon RX480 and an integrated Intel HD 4600. Without any compatibility changes, the game fails to start with a "Not Enough Virtual …

Re: MiG Alley

What basic MA install should this ddraw be included with? Vanilla, v124 or bdg? I'm slow getting up to speed on this... I've used only the official 1.23 patch, nothing else. I don't think the BDG patches should affect it in any way though. I know there are some still some 2D glitches (which aren't …

Re: MiG Alley

Latest experimental release of DDrawCompat should now fix the performance issues affecting this game (and some other titles that rely heavily on either indexed primitives or system memory vertex sources, such as Midtown Madness 2). It shouldn't have a black box covering most of the screen either. …

Re: Icewind Dale 2 frame drops

In fact this game doesn't need to be rendered in hw. As far as I know it from my debugging memories, it only does simple blittings + some direct CPU rendering so a full sw impl replacement would be more than enough. The only problem is how to detect it in dgVoodoo without adding a stupid option …

Re: dgVoodoo 2 for DirectX 11

Thx, maybe I'm lagging behind new-fashioned fogging customs... :D :D :D Breaking weather news! I've been playing around with the reference rasterizer from the DX7 SDK, and observed the following: - I modified the mfcfog sample and merged the projection matrix into the view matrix so I can …
