Re: FF7 music loop bug

The songs sound amazing on the roland I have pulled the midi files from the game and can play them on the desktop. Here is how they sound https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xEbW78xTbCY maybe i'm crazy. From my research I believe the music was composed on an sc-88. I mean everything works great (other …

Re: FF7 music loop bug

I give up I am playing the steam version with the reunion mod high quality psx soundtrack and the remako ai upscaled textures looks great. Still wish I could play it on one of my legacy machines with music working properly. I guess I could still use my psx version with epsxe. Here is a "complete" …

Re: FF7 music loop bug

So I have played through on the pc 3 times I am aware of all the bugs. I actually have a back up of all the patches I used back in the day to fix all the mini games. The audio bug never bothered me at the time frankly I never noticed it since I only played the psx version a hand full of times. From …

Re: FF7 music loop bug

The original windows port introduced this bug when you come out of battle the overworld music does not pick play where it left off, instead it just starts at the beginning of the song. Just wondering if I can fix this and play the original midi. I know about the sound fonts. I know about the xg I am …

FF7 music loop bug

I have a new roland sc-55 and I want to play ff7 as unaltered as possible with midi on my windows 98 machine. Was there ever a patch or fix for the loop bug that doesn't replace all the music with .ogg files. Could I make ff7 steam version work with midi? Though I would prefer my retail copy on my …

Re: sc-88st pro

I didn't expect so much feedback. I am new to these sound modules I have always just used SB for midi. I just got a sc-55 and sadly have found that many ff7 songs just can't be played on the 55 about 30 percent of the songs have too many voices for the sc-55. I want to go sc-88 pro which I have seen …

Re: New sc-55 can't get it working in dos

I will be picking up on of those sound cards then too. How would an aureal vortex perform? I wouldn't buy the Vortex for DOS usage if I had a motherboard that's compatible with the Solo-1 and ALS4000. I can't find a solo-1 as you suggested this an ess card right? Is there another ESS card that you …

Re: New sc-55 can't get it working in dos

I didn't think so, it is only for mt-32 stuff right? I am very new to setting up dos this deeply so I am pretty ignorant to most of what I am reading on here. Anyway I did get a usb midi cable with my purchase and it has worked flawlessly in win xp so I tried eduke32 the other night and it worked …

Re: New sc-55 can't get it working in dos

Thanks I'll give it a try! Sorry, think I was a little unclear here. I think SoftMPU and Duke Nukem 3D had the same problem with ACK, bjt fixed SoftMPU. Unfortunately SoftMPU can't help out Duke Nukem 3D. :( I didn't think so, it is only for mt-32 stuff right? I am very new to setting up dos this …

Re: New sc-55 can't get it working in dos

Alright can't get duke 3d to work I keep getting a mpu-401 not detected error when setting up the music. Weather i am in dos or windows I have a messy install from replacing the mobo yesterday. So today I performed a fresh install I installed duke with the bare min just to see if it was a sound …

Re: New sc-55 can't get it working in dos

If you are using the Biostar M7VIG Pro mentioned in your signature then it should have it's own gameport, just enable MIDI in your BIOS and you should be good to go. If you need a better sound card for DOS than your Live! then the ESS Solo-1 and ALS4000 based cards are good for the later VIA …
