No, the main new and exclusive feature to socket 1150 (Haswell, Haswell Refresh, Broadwell) is FIVR (fully integrated voltage regulation).

With a bit more RAM, StarCraft 1 will run. It is DirectX 5, but uses no 3D.

Do BIOS and SCSI driver support disks > 8 GB too? Try an Adaptec 2740/2742 in narrow or wide version instead. mkarcher has patched BIOS + ASPI7DOS driver to even get past 8 GB.

Oh dear, this system is comparable or a bit better than my current Windows 10 system. I guess your system even would be good enough for StarCraft II - except the operating system ofc.

If your tape drive is floppy based, you cannot connect both 3.5" and 5.25" floppy at the same time. However, it is unlikely your tape drive ever will be used. If you get at 5.25" floppy, it hopefully won't scratch the disks. Can you make a picture of the CDROM interface card please?

Even my 3com 3c597 EISA 10/100 card does not get out more than 14 MBit/s on WinNT 4.0 on a 50 MHz 486. There's not much difference to an Am5x86 @ 3x50 MHz too. Ah, unpopulated 9 cache sockets + dirty tag ram socket. But why do you want to install another 486 SX? I don't consider this board to support multi processors. I'd try to check the failing boot process with a Port 80 diagnostics card. Which RAM modules have you tried?

You can consider dual booting Win95B or Win95C / DOS. I'd recommend to use either VLB or PCI boards, but due to performance reasons no combined ones. 8 MB is enough for most sound fonts. Larger sound fonts can have a loading time of ~ 1 Minute. But As the SIMM sockets aren't that good quality It may be a pain to get the modules out without damaging the sockets. So please don't try pairs of 256 kB or 1 MB modules.
