I think it should be "512Kb" but the image in the monitor is slightly off. IMO the MX440 and FX5200 are the best in the list. However, there are many variants of both the MX440 and the Fx5200, maybe you can benchmark them and see what gets you better scores. 😀 Maybe the FX5200 has DVI and that should also be taken into consideration if you have an LCD.

Yeah seems the problem is the Video card, since it has the same behavior in the other motherboard. I wouldn't spend much time trying to find where the problem is exactly, maybe find another cheap Agp Video card...

I switched to a CF to IDE just to try it but couldn't go back to HDDs. Much faster response time, no noise, easy backup/cloning and also cheap. 😀 I keep some nice drives in a box but never use them anymore, maybe I'll sell some of them.

Normal Female-Male Vga cable would work fine. I used a cheap Chinese 1-Meter-long one for more than 1 year until I could find one for a reasonable price. The output quality might not be the best, but I would consider the games to be playable at least.

Maybe in USA Hercules was a big brand, but in Europe Diamond ruled for sure. I have lots of card from Diamond Multimedia, and I think they made good quality products.
