Re: VGA Capture Thread

Hello guys ! I've buy myself a VGA2USB (the red one) lately, and for some reason, I can't acquire more than 14fps ... I'm making my tests on machine equipped with a Matrox Mystique, and the VGA2USB is connected to an USB3.0 port on my PC (Windows 7 64b, Core i5 6600 + 16Gb + Geforce 1080, might do …

Your favorite Floppy software for modern OSs?

I'm using floppy disk drives in all my retro computers. I thought I wouldn't, but a lot of times I need to copy some small file, like a save game, a patch, a driver and whatnot, and I find using a floppy is quick enough, as a few of the machines have no USB ports, and some have them in the back, …

Re: VGA Capture Thread

The Retrotink2x does composite and S-Video, but not RGB (although it does YPbPr, so maybe you can do RGB->Component somewhere). It outputs 480p through HDMI that you can capture with any cheap capture card. I wouldn't go any lower than that, since the output quality of the Retrotink2x is already on …

Re: VGA Capture Thread

When did OSSC gain an OSD?? Firmware 0.85. The speed of the mode changes is really good. Personally it would bother me that with the scaling one looses the possibility to do pixel precise captures. Though generally the image quality in your setup looks convincing. Technically, I could do pixel …

Re: VGA Capture Thread

Alright, so I did a couple of tests. First, I just boot up Windows setting up 400p in passthrough mode. In the OSSC I have two profiles, one for 720x400 and one for 640x400, but in this video I chose the later. It works with both, but I didn't want to change it during the video and with 640x400 you …

Re: VGA Capture Thread

I use an OSSC as I mentioned, and the card takes 640x400 and 720x400 if I put the OSSC on passthrough with no issues that I can see. I haven't tested with an Amiga specifically, but in my setup I have a bunch of consoles connected through component cables and 240p resolution requires some tinkering …

Re: VGA Capture Thread

I've been checking this thread every now and then for the past couple years. I've had an Epiphan DVI2PCIe, and the legendary Micomsoft SC-512N1-L/DVI N, and I will say, none of them compare to a Magewell Pro Capture Quad HDMI I got for peanuts second hand. It has 4 inputs, although there's also a …

Re: W98 ISA + PCI

Actually, I installed everything yesterday and, as kolderman says, I really didn't have to do anything. Just pick the Audigy as a default in the sound settings, for Windows, and the MAD16's MPU401 for the wave blaster in the MIDI section. Thanks!

W98 ISA + PCI

So, I've been reading a few threads on this topic and most people seem to be asking about how to physically set up the whole thing, but that's not an issue for me, since I have a mixer with a couple of empty inputs. I have a 694T board with an ISA slot currently sporting an OPTi SB16 clone that …
