Re: WP32 McCake : MT32 compatible waveblaster board

Dreamblaster was kind enough to provide me with a panel as a kit. It was very well packaged. I don't want to withhold the result from you. Here is the kit: IMG_9210.jpg The assembly is done in 15 minutes. Here is the result: IMG_9211.jpg IMG_9213.jpg IMG_9261.jpg IMG_9264.jpg Overall, I find the …

Re: WP32 McCake : MT32 compatible waveblaster board

In the meantime I've done some testing on one of my older systems: Test system: - Mainboard: A-Trend ATC-5000 (Intel 430TX chipset) - CPU: Intel Pentium 200 MMX - RAM: 32MB - OS: DOS 6.22 Soundcards: - Creative Labs Sound Blaster AWE32 (CT3900) with DSP v4.13 and 8MB RAM BLASTER=A220 I5 D1 H5 P330 …

Re: Retro Action Rewind (newly developed ISA card)- A tribute to the Datel PC Action Replay

Please improve the edge connector. Ensure it is properly beveled and rounded, pull back the solder mask from it, and at a minimum use ENIG (hard gold would be 1000x better) Thanks for the comment. The final revision will definitly be at least ENIG. What exactly do you mean by properly beveled and …

Re: Retro Action Rewind (newly developed ISA card)- A tribute to the Datel PC Action Replay

Many Thanks! Yes, of course there are also software solutions. I can't say exactly where the difference is. But I just like the hardware approach with a controller on my desk, a blinking LED and a button that I can press whenever I want. Please improve the edge connector. Ensure it is …

Re: New sound card project: AWE64 Legacy

That's how I see it too. If you take the development time and its costs into account, the price for an assembled board is really very fair. Even if a small surcharge is probably included in the PCB price. It should also not be forgotten that these are not mass-produced goods from Asia, but …

Re: Cloning the AdLib Gold Surround Sound Module

cyclone3d, thanks for the information and photos. The "old" clones are probably as rare as the AdLib Gold itself. I think an AdLib Gold Clone should be as close as possible to the original and fully compatible. Clearly the CTRL chip and probably the MMA have to be replaced by FPGA or CPLDs.

Re: Cloning the AdLib Gold Surround Sound Module

The Gold Ctrl IC will be the major problem... Would probably need an FPGA replacement or similar. Yeah, probably. I'm doing something similar for Datel PC Action Replay right now. I think it can be done. I am more concerned about the calculation of the filter capacitors. A (defective) AdLib Gold …
