@MikeSG I guess you are doing this in the name of completeness, correct ? I tested these SXL2 CPUs on a LOT of motherboards and with one exception they worked just fine. Not sure if additional improvements are actually needed. If i don't solder the two chips on the adapter will it still function ? …

That is unfortunate indeed. Lets see if 4036yb handles it better for you. Not surprised that aha-1522b did better than 1542c#. Once you get the Advansys / SIIG controller, it should move the needle quite a bit. Btw, i never sa 1522b, only 1520b. Do you really have 22 ?

the fastest SXL2 rig to date. i sense motivation bubbling up around here. SXL2-100 rolls nice off the tongue, but my only sxl2-66 trips hard past 80mhz. this will be effort ... btw, did you narrow specific isa card that caps you at 11mhz bus ?

@Feipoa Assembled PC looks good indeed. The scraggly cables scream 90ies - excellent touch. Back panel appears rusty. Do you plan to do something about it, or leave as is ? @MikeSG What was the point of the flexible ribbon mod ?

Thanks for the notes. I get that. Looking at the datasheet recently. No pins are exposed that can be used directly or with minimal intervention. At least thats how i remember it. My question was specifically about the physical location of the components, so the incursion on the package is minimal.

3 isa scsi controllers and one other card that i dont know what it does (lower right). was not able to make the scsi controllers work with CF cards. so be warned.

Wait for the YB board to arrive. That will allow you to intersect the prob. So far didnt hit a 386 hw config that hard-fails with 387 chips like that, but i dont test this class components with w95 and nt.
