@CuPid, version 1.89.3.x32, Windows 95 OSR 2.5. When i start it on my 486dlc, it loads to 10% (PCI) and just has stayed there for like 15min. Any suggestions?

To my knowledge, there is no standard for ISA riser slot positioning on motherboard or lock down mechanism. Therefore different motherboards may have the slot for riser in slightly different positions and the case may not be able to accomodate the shape or the screw holes of this particular riser.

These things have only value with a case and a motherboard that are going together with it. This alone is almost junk, except when someone has this exact motherboard and case and is missing this riser.

Yes, the 504MB limit is a harddrive limit imposed by bios. FAT16 has 2GB limit. This is filesystem limit, therefore it is a limit per partition. (So 4GB CF card can be made to have 2x2GB partitions)

Your bios is still ~504MB limit. So even if you partition the drive on another computer to have bigger partitions than that limit, your limited computer is not able to address that part of the drive and you are just creating trouble and wasted time for yourself with random behaviours and errors... …

EzDrive (DDO) works very well and doesn't need you to mess with any hardware. 😀 With dos 6.22 you can go up to 2GB per partition, as this is the FAT16 limit. The 528MB limit is from BIOS that the EzDrive solves.

@x0zm_, do you have somewhere some instructions to share for the "server" part vm with modem? I would love to do something similar: Use my Pentium MMX over com port cable as client and my modern computer with usb-com adapter as modem/ISP server to serve the internet connection.

@assasincz, pins connecting in the wrong order. It's not exactly surge, but a flow of power through wrong part of circuits.

It's not exactly that you can't switch computers on the fly, but the dangers of it. The keyboard port may burn down (usually they have a fuse there), when you do the switching. You really don't want to use the switch while any of the connected computers are running. Really.

Actually, i have seen many socket 7 boards all with today's standard pinout for USB. Though, they usually don't have one missing pin for a key. You can use multimeter to find the ground and +5V on USB pins to make sure you are good. Those extra pins you have after gap might be for activity leds. …
