If you plan to run winXP go with the nForce board (the biostar). Pair it with the 6600 or 9800 and 1 gb of ram and done. For 98 go with the MSI KT333 board.

No, windows setup auto detected the mouse as long as a dos driver was running... if I used my m15 it would detect a logitech mouse, otherwise it would detect "Microsoft mouse or IBM PS/2".
