BlueRidge was a custom modification, I doubt commercial game composers would have composed anything specifically for it.

The problem is not in CoolSoft. It looks like you're experiencing the Win10 issue discussed in those topics: Munt issue with Windows 10 Windows 10 stops detecting Munt. Install the latest Munt 2.4.0 version before trying anything else.

I haven't had any issue with Munt since June, and version 2.4.0 so far survived two reboots B) The only glitch was when Win10 rev2009 was released in November. I ran "drvsetup.exe repair" to register the driver again.

Munt emulates a real MT-32. A soundfont is an approximation -- and can't reproduce an MT-32 anyway, since the MT-32 instruments are programmable.

The MT-32 has 9 channels. If your MIDI files are MT-32 compatible, they should sound the same on Munt as they do on MT-32. MT-32/Munt are not compatible with GM/GS/XG.

It looks like a similar problem with VirtualMIDISynth, which has been happening in Win10 since December. The MIDI driver is automatically disabled by Windows on every reboot.

For reference: https://www.dosbox.com/wiki/MIXER I don't know how it works on MacOS, but on Windows that sort of misadventure can easily be diagnosed with the following command: mixer /listmidi

GM definitely. It was one of the first Sierra games targeted at GM and it clearly sounds bad on MT-32 (which uses a generic remapping table).

For your info, Gemini Wing is the only known game to use the U110-07 and U110-10 cards (which are not mandatory, as the game is also compatible with a plain CM-64 and of course a MT-32).
