Yours is a 55 FD-GFR-0xx . There are manuals for GFR-1xx , 3xx, 4xx, 5xx and GFR-7xx but not -0xx AFAIK. Let me check my archives... added: Having "resistors" instead of true jumpers is a bit odd. I have to have a floppy drive in anything under where the BIOS allows a bootable CD. So that is XT, 286, 386, 486, Pentium, etc. For those who use a Gotek you are still technically using a floppy drive, though an emulator one, it serves exact same purpose 😀

What model Tape Drive ? could be faulty cables, they can cause intermittent issues. Also if the Tape drive is a early scsi-2 you need to set the Adaptec bios speed to the device to 10Mb not 20 or 40...

I like MX-4 too ! It is non-conductive and far better for older parts and has a very long life before drying out IMHO. I avoid all silver based products on nearly all my vintage gear.

The manual shows pics of Phoenix 486 bios 1.00 dated 1993, that would make it a 512MB HD limit, that limit was not broken until 1996 when they included int13 extensions iirc. Is why Drive Pro, EZ-Drive, etc were created 😀
