Some laptops (Apple) are picky about SODIMM (DDR2?) speeds. Some modern laptops require LPDDR (DDR3?) and won't work with regular DDR. This is off the top of my head, from personal experience. I definitely had to run PC2-4200 sticks in my PowerBook G4 1.67, it would not recognize anything faster.

Interesting, does it have some kind of fancy capture card for xray cameras in it or something? The PACS stickers indeed seem to suggest that. What does FDISK report ? In the MITSU286.ZIP is a FXDFMT.com which is FIXED-DISK PHYSICAL FORMATTER V 2.40 maybe you need to reformat the hard drive with it.
