Re: SBVGM (DOS) VGM Player

Hello! Where can I download that ay emulator from marsel de cogel? SBVGM doesn't use any internal emulation, but you might be able to find something at Marcel de Kogel's Homepage . Thank you! I'm coding an AY music player for DOS and like you I'm using a Game Blaster Card to output the sound but …

Hello! Where can I download that …

Re: New MS-DOS game release: Sardonic

Sweet, always love a good classic-style shmup! That said, thanks for not having one-hit-deaths. This game might make an appearance on my stream tonight. :) (7 PM Pacific Daylight Time, link in sig.) Thanks, that would be very nice :) Hint: in command line type sardonic.exe belenensesrules and you …

Re: New MS-DOS game release: Sardonic

But I found the controls not very convenient. Is there a way to chage it to arrow keys? also not a fan of controls, this c64 scheme belongs to c64 not dos LOL Works fine and very smooth. But so difficult to me to use current controls ! Hi guys! Thanks again for your nice feedback :) In the attached …

Re: New MS-DOS game release: Sardonic

This is freaking cool, thanks a lot for sharing. What was used to compose the music (on the DOS front)? Was it hard to get it to play back by code? Hi! Nice you like my game :) The music is a protracker .MOD file composed by Fred. I am making a converter that converts .MOD files to Adlib and AY-3- …

Re: New MS-DOS game release: Sardonic

Nice! Thank you for sharing with us. The game works fine and is fun to play. But I found the controls not very convenient. Is there a way to chage it to arrow keys? Sure, it's possible to change the control keys to the arrows keys. I'll make the modification soon. In fact, Q A O P Space is more …

Re: Need help with Philips SAA1099 sound chip.

I think the CMS was never used to its fullest extent. Surely it was less flexible than the OPL2, but there are great demos for the Sam Coupé, which also uses the SAA1099. So I would be glad to see some top notch music done with it. My Snark Barker is waiting! Yeap, unfortunately the CMS Card never …

Re: Need help with Philips SAA1099 sound chip.

Great to know more MS-DOS software homebrew is coming. Besides AdLib and Game Blaster support would you consider Innovation SSI support? The SID chip should allow for great music despite 3 channels only. And you can always use DOSBox SVN to test, it supports Innovation SSI Sound. Hi @carlostex Yeap …

Re: Need help with Philips SAA1099 sound chip.

At least that is what I assume. Depending on the type of music, you might not even need these bogus register selections. (I.e. if your music creates a sufficient number of more or less uniformly distributed register selection operations, already.) @Benedikt Thanks for your help. I'll make some more …

Need help with Philips SAA1099 sound chip.

Hi everyone! I'm coding a MS-Dos game that will support AdLib, Sound Blaster and CMS/Game Blaster (Philips SAA1099). I'm making some tests with the SAA1099 and I can produce lots of great sounds but I can't set the envelope duration properly. I have tried different values for frequency and octave of …
