Take a look at Vibra16s also ... CT2890 or similar with OPL3. A lot of times they are cheaper then AWE .

Would be a nice board for Geode NX or Athlon Thunderbird. Check if RTC works after complete poweroff (cable out of PSU). I have 2 Asus MBOs from that period that don't keep time and it's not the battery.

Just a hint ... Venices (and s754 in general) work great with modern AMD Wraith coolers. AM3+ version with no bling in pics.

SiS, VIA or Intel. Not sure about nforce2 and 98SE. nforce3 is a no-no, but is great XP chipset. I would also recommend i865PE.

Came across Fujitsu D1133-V10. It seems to have all the goodies: SB-Link (PC\PCI ??), wavetable header, amp (TEA2025B) and a lot of caps. "H" revision chipset. Haven't tested it yet 😉. SSDs don't have sectors but 4k or larger "pages" (groupings of cells) , and during GC operation blocks of multiple pages get "zapped" ... so alignement matters since it's not "per cell" or "per page" operation.

Yes, Promise TX2 SATA150 ... it's probably connected to (shared) PCI bus. But, better than nothing. At least you don't need TX2/TX4 PCI card. I don't think you need adapter for Promise, if using SATA drives.
