I played EoM from 2002 on P3 1GHz system. It ran fine. Not sure why 3y older game would require better system.

FarCry was SM 2.0 game (Radeon 9700Pro and later) and was released same year as Athlon64.

I have few slot-1 Coppermine EB cpus, I think 600MHz. Not sure why Intel decided to make them, since BX440 does not have "clean" divider for AGP bus on 133MHZ FSB. Were they helping VIA/SIS ?

@VivienM OEM Coppermine based systems usually had Intel Desktop Board variation on i815 chipset, which were reliable boards with quality capacitors (usually Nichicon). Do you mean slot-1 Coppermines or Coppermines in general?

Yes, Phil tested on socket7. I suspect all/any processing power should be on the card (Raspberry Pi Pico) and serial mouse is transparent for the OS.

I remember my PII-333 (that one from this thread), with 4ns cache was able to boot at 4 x 100, but had no luck at 4.5 x 100 - crashes early during POST at stock VCore, and hangs at WinXP desktop at 2.4V. My board (Lucky Star 6ABX2V) can't tweak the VIO voltage, I might try that later with better …

@Grem Five's card would be perfect for comparison. Looks like identical PCB with FGL 8800. I have one 9000Pro with BGA memory, might also be same PCB.

Its weird because there isn't much difference between the 8500 and 8800 aside from the VBIOS and core/vram speeds .. makes me wonder what they changed in the bios that affects OpenGL. It's probably some zero-ohm resistor in different position connected to GPU registers. Driver will always see it as …

I think only 9100. 92xx were RV250/RV280 based (Radeon 9000), so 4 TMUs instead of 8. Most of those 9100s are missing DVI. Memory is usually 4ns. Some are even 64-bit, missing half of memory chips.
