Re: Win32 games having DOS engine components

Wow, this is fantastic news ! :D I'm so glad this was finally fixed. And for both versions of the game, too ! Awesome work ! Let me get some time, I'll ask around about the game Extreme Paintbrawl. There are other games on the same engine too, but I couldn't find their Windows adaptations (Wiki …

Re: Win32 games having DOS engine components

Power Chess 98 The original Power Chess too. Power Chess has DOS (for the core), Win16 (WinG), DirectSound, and Win32 (Win32 controls and a Win32 console program) components. As such, it only works with Windows 9X. Yes I mentioned it in the first post. It can work in Windows 11, thus I was …

Re: Win32 games having DOS engine components

I actually did find a way of getting Extreme Paintbrawl to fully work on Windows XP+. You had to modify some batch files to start DOSBox at certain times. Only problem is that if your graphics card doesn't support the 640x400 menus, you're fucked. NVIDIA takes me as low to 320x200. i don't think …

Re: Why did they rush Windows 11?

I have 2 machines, one which couldn't install Windows 11 because of unsupported specs, while my main PC having a 1st Gen Ryzen installed it without any tweaks at all. I didn't have the supported list then, so I installed based on what the installer says. Funnily, withing Windows 11, the PC health …

Re: Why did they rush Windows 11?

I'd swap the question round to why did you rush to install Windows 11? I never recommend anyone installing any windows version, (or anything new really) till it's been out in the wild for at least 12 months. Even if Microsoft themselves have updated everything for the new shinny OS, other software …
