The only Compaqs I know of are here http://66.113.161.23/~mR_Slug/deviceInfo/comp … q_qrg/index.htm Are you sure it wasn't the Systempro XL? That was a dual 486 with an IDE RAID option. ShadowLord on vcfed.org has one I think. Didn't know of a prosignia dual 486, be cool of there was one.

You could try the delay start jumper, DS on the adapter. The drive should wait a few seconds then start up, regardless of it receiving a start command. Did you say the jumper block on the front of the drive is empty?

I run an XP system on my network and I only just upgraded to sp3. Its been fine. It is behind a NAT. Ran a win 2000 server too until recently, that's been fine as well. Things seem to just chug along for me.

Those highscreen cases nearly always look good. Never seen one in the UK. They did make one by some famous designer and it looked terrible IMHO.
