Re: Radeon 8500LE vs 8500

gdjacobs wrote on 2023-12-26, 23:48: Check if the board has faster RAM chips installed. Has 3.6ns Hynix TSOP chips. But Ive seen LE's with 3.3ns chips too... so I guess faster RAM is not an indicator of a real 8500.

Radeon 8500LE vs 8500

Hello! When looking eBay listings, how can I tell if its a 8500LE o a higher clocked 8500? Both cards look the same, and have the same P/N (109-85700-00). The card I saw doesn't have labels at the back.

PC1066 RAM on VC820

Hello! I want to upgrade the RAM on a Intel VC820 Motherboard. The cheapest I can find locally is a 2x256MB/8 kit of 1066-32P non-ECC. I know that this kit will be downclocked to 800 on this mobo, but is it compatible? I don't want to buy that kit to find out that its incompatible... Thanks!

Re: New AIO on 775

I bought a couple of Cooler Master Masterliquid ML 120R RGB AIOs which are still compatible with 775, they are not massive which means they will fit most cases in place of the rear exhaust fan. I spent quite a while hunting for something bigger but like you its hard enough finding a 120, I did come …

New AIO on 775

I'm currently running a QX6850 on a EVGA 780i SLI with an Intel stock cooler. Needless to say, it's quite hot. I don't have any extra space at the top of the case, so a chonky tower cooler won't fit. So I was thinking about an AIO because I can fit a 240/280mm rad at the front of the case. But all …

Intel D815EEA2U

Hi everyone! I just got an Intel D815EEA2U Mainboard. It works great with a Tualeron 1.2GHz, but when I install a Pentium III-S 1.4 Tualatin. It doesnt boot. It has BIOS P19. I tried to find version P21 but I cant find it. Does anyone here have it? Thank you very much. Kind regards.

HP Brio 8273

I bought today an HP Brio 8273 for about 9 USD. Wanted to add a Socket 7 PC to my collection. It was really dirty and had some rust on the back... so I cleaned it and removed the rust with some vinegar. Also replaced the CR2032 battery. It uses an AT Power Supply, but has an ATX like Power Switch …

Re: Intel D815EEA2

P19 doesn't support it out of the box, but p15 does? Seems counter intuitive. Yes... that sounds strange, but that's how it is. With a newer BIOS, the PC will boot up, but you will get an error message saying that the processor isn't supported. The same happens with some 440BX mainboards made by …

Re: Intel D815EEA2

Thank you! In that thread I found an executable to generate a bootable floppy... but I don't have any working floppy... Is there a way to extract the BIOS rom and flash utility to burn it to a CD? The extracted files are in the attached zip - put them on your bootable media (CD, USB) or in a …

Re: Intel D815EEA2

A google search led me here: https://www.vogons.org/viewtopic.php?t=56259 It's been reported that the P15 BIOS worked with Tualatin 1400 (which should be the one with 512KB cache). The P15 was uploaded by someone in that thread, you should be able to download it from there. Obviously all at your …

Intel D815EEA2

Hello! Greetings from Argentina. Recently I took a gamble and bought a "non working" PC for just 8USD. The PC interested me because there was an Intel D815EEA2 mainboard inside. Luckily it just had a faulty RAM... everything else seems to work just fine. I understand that this motherboard supports …

PIII for Win98 gaming

Hello! Greetings from Argentina... I've had this Compaq PC for a long time, and I used this PC for seeding torrents. It was running 24/7 until the mainboard eventually died. It was gathering dust for a few years until I decided to revive it to use it for some Windows 98 games from the late 90s. …
