Old reviews for that card say the 40 pin header supports AD_LINK which is the pinout the Audigy 2 and other X-Fi cards use. I wonder if this helps with video encoding. Probably not. I have bottlenecks in the system but the GTX 460 wasn't one of them. The 750 ti includes the 2nd generation of NVENC, while the 460 didn't have NVENC support. With the correct tool this should provide a massive encoding performance increase.

If you already removed the keyboard connector and checked and repaired all the visible damaged traces. You'll likely need to remove the BIOS socket and the socket between it and the first ISA slot. From there check each trace. The acid could easily have eaten some traces under those.

A fresh install would give the best chance of success. But maybe try out the Win9X version of VDMSound. I'm not sure about the Win9X version, but I thought the NT version installed it's own MPU401 driver that lets you select any Windows MIDI output.
