Re: How do I get a picture on my turbo switch and how can I find out how many mhz my pc is running with the turbo switch

Can you take pictures of your turbo display? The old ones were just segmented displays and you would set jumpers to configure what is displayed when the turbo is on or off. Normally they were powered with a standard four-pin Molex connector like the ones that go into an IDE HDD.

Re: Is it possible to use a SB16 ct4170 for digital sound only and Ati FX stereo CD for FM Yamaha 262 chip opl3.

I would like to know if someone did succeed to use only FM from one sound card and digital audio from another one ? Thanks Using UNISOUND, yes people have done that. I haven't done it yet, but I have a YMF719 coming in a month or so that I'll pair up with a last-gen Vibra 16. My goal is that the …

Re: Is it possible to use a SB16 ct4170 for digital sound only and Ati FX stereo CD for FM Yamaha 262 chip opl3.

Have you seen UNISOUND? https://www.vogons.org/viewtopic.php?f=62&t=72553 I believe the CT4170 is PnP, you can use UNISOUND to configure it and just not set the OPL port, or map it to something different. I can't find much on the Ati FX Stereo CD card, but the pictures that pop up have a YM3812 …

Re: So I bought a CPU for my 98 machine without realizing that my mobo only supports up to 1.3ghz

That is because the nForce chipsets have 0 compatibility for DOS sound as far as I am aware. Has anybody gotten DOS sound working on a nForce board? I'm not sure if they can. The issue is they are missing backwards compatibility that allows mapping of the IO ports (ie 220, 338, etc) to the PCI …

Re: So I bought a CPU for my 98 machine without realizing that my mobo only supports up to 1.3ghz

Sorry about my lack of information. This is an already built Windows 98SE machine (plus unofficial SP) with a 1.3ghz Athlon, 768mb ram, a Geforce 4 440 MX 64mb AGP card. I wanted to upgrade the processor to the new one but my board doesn't support it. Don't need ISA, have a Sound Blaster Live! …

Re: Info on the Diamond Monster Sound MX300

I'm not very knowledgeable on sound cards so please excuse me for asking again: I always thought Aureal Vortex 1+2 drivers only supported EAX 1.0 in software and EAX 3/4/5 was only ever supported by Creative cards with no wrappers/emulation avaliable. I'm really not trying to be a dick here if …

Re: Info on the Diamond Monster Sound MX300

Good thing you got it working and thanks for sharing your solution!👍 Btw you mention you're getting A3D 2.0 + EAX 4.0; does the Live! support EAX 4.0 after all? Doh, thanks for the catch. I've been looking at 98 cards too much and the 4.0 on an Audigy 2 was stuck in my head along with the A3D …
